The name “Namal” is derived from two Punjabi words, “Na” meaning “No” and “Mul” meaning “Price”. As suggested by the name, the land of Namal is priceless in its rugged beauty and majesty. Namal College, Mianwali started its operations in 2008 with the vision of becoming a center of excellence. It was the first step in creating Namal Knowlwedge City and seeks to transform the rural town of Mianwali into a hub of research and development.

Diversity is one of the most prized qualities of the college. The students come from 55 districts of Pakistan bringing in not only divergent ideas but contrasting cultures. Namal College is also proud of its faculty as there are currently 19 PhD faculty members out of a total of 32 members. This translates into a teacher-student ratio of 1:10 which is considerably higher than many other private institutes in the country.
Since its inception, Namal has produced more than 320 graduates and more than 90% have secured employment while the rest are pursuing further education. The college provides its students all the amenities that are conducive to learning. These includes robotics and machine labs, electrical and electronic engineering labs, and a library with free access to more than 10,000 digital titles.

Many students who come to Namal are unable to finance their education. To financially assist them, Namal College has constituted Scholarship Fund to provide these students with a chance to acquire higher education thereby opening new window of opportunities to them. The Scholarship Fund is financed by Friends of Namal who believe in the power of higher education in transforming lives.

Namal College currently offers three undergraduate programs: BSc Electrical Engineering, BSc Computer Science and Green BBA.
